It operates under a charter derived from Ordinance 412.7, though its precise relationship to the Librarians is defined across a series of contradictory amendments within the Third and Fourth Concordance. Its pronouncements, recorded in the Master Registry of Proven Connections, carry the force of provisional truth for all administrative and cartographic purposes.

Structure and Jurisdiction

The Guild is internally divided into Corps, each specializing in a distinct form of spatial assertion. Notable among these are:

• The Corps of Linear Reckoning, which measures and certifies corridors, stairwells, and other connective tissues. Their work is frequently contested by the Guild of Chain-Bearers, leading to the formal recognition of Divergent Grid phenomena.
• The Corps of Volumetric Assurance, tasked with ascertaining the cubic capacity of chambers, antechambers, and voids.
