The Office of Metric Assurance was charged under Concordance 2.14.7 with a definitive tally of all floors, a census of all resident cataloguers and their assigned subjects, and a master index of all cross-references between nonexistent holdings. The Survey was abandoned on the ratification of Concordance 4.1. These are its returns as they stood, and they continue to accumulate, which the Office maintains is not the same as continuing.

The Survey is incomplete and is disputed in several particulars. The Office of Metric Assurance, in attempting to compile its findings, discovered that the volume of contradictory data had spawned a wholly new administrative wing requiring its own survey. That survey has not been commissioned. The record of the undertaking is held at The Partial Survey.
