The Sanctum of Precedence is an architectural and procedural anomaly located on the disputed boundary between Floor 417 (the Gallery of Provisional Truths) and Floor 418 (the Repository of Lapsed Mandates). It is defined in Third Concordance, Annex Delta as "the sole physical locus wherein the authority of contradictory edicts may be simultaneously held to be in effect, without procedural violation." The Sanctum does not possess a fixed spatial volume and is instead demarcated by the audible range of the Chime of Contested Harmony, a bell whose tolling schedule is itself the subject of frequent Precedence Assignment challenges.

Architectural Features

The Sanctum manifests as a rotunda of variable radius, constructed from a tessellation of slate-grey tiles known as Judgement Panes.
