Floor 1117 is a designated reversal floor located between Floor 909 and Floor 4,200. It functions as the primary administrative hub for the storage and processing of incomplete hermeneutic loops, a class of non-manifest phenomenon defined by the Second Concordance, Annex Gamma-7. While its number falls within a commonly referenced sequence, its primary operational designation is "the Charnel House of Premises," a term found only in archival logs from the early 37th century.

Architectural and Functional Layout

The floor is organized around a central, unfathomably deep shaft known colloquially as the Inference Pit. Encircling this void are 48 radially arranged stacks, each containing 100 shelves of unfinished syllogisms, aborted inductions, and discarded hypotheses. The shelving material is a patented ceramic-composite, Grade L-1117, designed to prevent logical seepage between adjacent chains of reasoning. Corridors between the stacks are perpetually lit by resonant argonium lamps, which flicker in direct, unsettling proportion to the density of unresolved premises in the immediate vicinity.

Administrative oversight is conducted from the Peripheral Causeways, a ring of offices suspended above the main stacks. These offices house the clerical staff responsible for tagging incoming materials with their respective impasse codes, as defined by the Third Concordance, Clause 404(b). Atmospheric readings indicate a consistently low barometric pressure, believed to be a side-effect of housing so many unresolved questions.
