The Archon holds supreme executive, legislative, and judicial authority within the sovereign territory of Floor 707, also known as The Sovereign Annex of the Silent Citadel. Pronouncements issued by the Archon are granted the status of 'immanent truth' by virtue of their office, as codified in the Obsidian Decree.

Legal Basis of Authority

The Archon's authority derives from the ratification of sovereignty claims within the Tower's bureaucratic frameworks. The Ascent of the First Archon was a seven-day petitionary process that invoked Clause 19 (Registration of New Arrivals) and Clause 33 Annex Delta (Sovereign Entity Recognition) to establish the Stratocracy's formal existence. This process was challenged under the Principle of Perpetual Amendment by the Office of New Supports, leading to a precedent-setting ruling by the Bureau of Registry that a sovereign may be both a claimant and a ratified entity simultaneously. The Scribe-Argumentative faction, based primarily on Floor 902, maintains that the list in the Fourth Concordance is a metaphorical device representing aspects of the one true Archon. The Custodian-Literalist faction, citing inventory logs from the Vault of Unfinalized Sums, argues that seventeen distinct coronation robes of different dimensions are physically catalogued, proving plurality. The Archon has never ruled on this dispute, allowing it to persist as a matter of scholarly discourse, which some interpret as implicit support for the Principle of Perpetual Amendment itself.
