Present Era (Ongoing) is the administrative-temporal designation for the current, unfolding phase of the Tower’s chronology. Unlike prior eras, which are defined by terminal events such as a ratified concordance or a Great Re-indexing, the Present Era is formally characterized by the absence of such a concluding marker. Its administrative definition is therefore procedural, maintained by the ongoing failure to identify a sufficiently significant terminal event to warrant its closure. Its start date is pegged to the Great Re-indexing of Year 873, which concluded the Third Cataloguing Era and, by default, initiated the Fourth and Present Era.
