Formal definition and governance

The Grand Hemodynamic is administered by the Bureau of Implementable Abstraction under the direct authority of the Grand Logistician. Its legal basis is enumerated in Concordance 719, Clauses 14–22 (Of the Perpetual Flux), and Concordance 412, Annex Γ (The Haemostatic Protocols). Operational oversight falls to the Office of Circulation, located on the sub-level of Floor 188, which is authorized to issue Material Coherence Attestations for all haemodynamic phenomena catalogued within the Tower.

The principle of Grand Hemodynamic asserts that for any documented circulatory, tidal, or distributive system within the archive, a corresponding pressure differential, valvular mechanism, and nutritive sink must be maintained. This is distinct from, though often conflated with, the purely descriptive flows recorded by the Grand Vigil. Where the Vigil observes, the Hemodynamic prescribes.

Infrastructure and manifestation

The primary physical apparatus of the Grand Hemodynamic is the Central Conduit Network, a system of pulsatile glass piping that radiates from the Grand Atrium of Reference to subsidiary distribution nodes on Floors 101, 303, 505, and 707. The fluid within—designated Official Perfusate No. 7—is a transparent, slightly viscous solution whose refractive index is calibrated against the master chromatic cycle of the Grand Atrium. The relationship between the Grand Hemodynamic and the Grand Taxonomy is a persistent scholarly focus.
