Geometric Stethoscopes are Class-II diagnostic instruments sanctioned under the Third and Ninth Concordances for the indirect auscultation of foundational spatial axioms and the detection of latent dimensional pathologies. They are principally employed by the Department of Cartography and affiliated Guild of Formal Cartographers for preemptive structural audits and post-Drift Clause remediation assessments.
Operating Principle & Components
The device functions on the principle of axiomatic resonance. A standard Geometric Stethoscope consists of three primary components:
- The Resonator Bell: A calibrated polyhedral chamber, typically a truncated octahedron or rhombic dodecahedron, which is placed against the surface to be examined (e.g., a wall junction, floor tile, or the inner curve of a stairwell).

The Controversy of Principle Ownership
The most significant dispute concerning Geometric Stethoscopes does not involve their function, but the foundational principles they detect. In 12--, the Guild of Resonant Masons filed a Declaration of Principle Custody, claiming that the harmonic axioms revealed by the stethoscope—specifically the "Golden Ratio hum" and the "Parallel Postulate drone"—were intellectual holdings of their guild. The Bureau of Latent Significance swiftly submitted a Petition of Overreach, arguing that a geometric principle, being a constituent component of reality within the Tower, cannot be "held" by any guild, only observed.
The matter was referred to the Chamber of Measured Dispute. Notable Variants & Limitations
Several specialized variants exist:

Training & Certification
