Aperture Seal refers to a standardized, permanent physical and administrative closure applied to a designated architectural opening—an Aperture—within a Spiral. Its application is governed by Concordance 117, Section 8, and signifies the formal cessation of all transit, communication, and logistical functions through that access point.

Physical Composition and Application

An Aperture Seal is a composite structure. Its primary component is a fused ceramic-metallic plate, 2.54 meters in diameter and 0.3 meters thick, inscribed with the relevant Spiral and Aperture designations, the date of sealing, and the authority citation (typically a clause from Concordance 117). This plate is fused to the aperture’s frame using a thermite-derived compound, creating a permanent molecular bond with the surrounding Tower substrate. Secondary layers include a hermetic gasket of woven silica fibers and an outer veneer of bureaucratic sealing wax, impressed with the sigil of the administering Librarian detachment. Administrative Rationales
