Administrative Realism

Administrative Realism is the prevailing ontological and procedural doctrine within the Tower, which holds that an entity's substantive reality for all administrative and cataloguing purposes is constituted solely by its first properly formatted entry into the Tower’s records. It is the philosophical underpinning of the General Administrative Protocols and informs all major cataloguing standards.
